Abhinav Gaur K.
As a student, I was always fascinated by science, especially chemistry. Yet, in my school years, I struggled with mathematics and often felt like just an above-average student, uncertain if I would pursue science at all. Still, deep inside, I knew that if I did, I wanted to go all the way to a post-graduation in chemistry. My schooling at Kendriya Vidyalaya O.N.G.C., nestled in the foothills of Dehradun, was where my love for science and research began to take shape. I always wanted to explore beyond the ordinary, to try something different. My teachers were supportive, but I often felt there was a gap, a space where schools could do more to help students truly pursue their passions. That question stayed with me: How can schools and teachers contribute more to what students wish to achieve?
After completing my XII CBSE, I followed my passion for chemistry, earning a Bachelor’s in Science with a focus on biochemistry, biotechnology and organic chemistry, then a Master’s in organic chemistry and retrosynthesis. My professional journey began with roles as a production chemist and later as content head for an Ed-tech start-up. But alongside these roles, teaching kept calling me back. In 2018, I began offering tuitions through my first venture, The Brain Institute, later teaching at Officers Maritime Academy and Kartikeya Institute of Learning. From the start, I avoided rote learning, preferring to bring creativity, curiosity and innovation into my teaching.
By 2021, I became a full-time teacher in a residential school. This experience opened my eyes to the unique challenges and opportunities in education, especially in boarding schools. I immersed myself in learning new skills, adapting international curriculum practices and experimenting with subject-integrated teaching. My focus shifted from teaching subjects to empowering systems "for both teachers and students."
Yuvaan Research and Education Trust was born from this vision: to innovate education, bridge the gaps I once felt as a student and empower every learner and educator to achieve more than they thought possible.
My contributions to Yuvaan Gurukul and Yuvaan Research and Educational Trust are made purely on a voluntary basis. I do not receive any monetary compensation, personal benefits or financial returns for my work. My involvement is driven solely by passion for education, a commitment to empowering learners and educators, and a belief in the Trust’s mission.
